Chapter 117 - Do it for Feng Long

The night arrives in Jiangsu. As usual, Xia Chunyu was getting ready to sleep, waiting for Ouyang Ziyu in his bedroom. The day was rainy, so the temperature hardly changed over the day, plummeting as twilight happened.
Ouyang Ziyu secretly answered the letter Feng Long sent for Xia Chunyu before going to sleep. He assured Feng Long about providing a clear path for the medicines through Jiangsu, and also would provide means to transport them using their own resources.
Ouyang then finally make its way to Xia Chunyu's bedroom, sitting at his side:

-Ouyang, it is getting very cold... Could you keep me warm? - Xia Chunyu smiles.
-Of course, your majesty...

Xia Chunyu and Ouyang then lie on the mattress. He hugs Ouyang, looking into his eyes:

-Ouyang... I can see that you may have had a bad day... What happened?
-Majesty... I'm fine...

Xia Chunyu kisses Ouyang:

-It is not going to work... Ouyang, please... Tell me if anything bothers you... I am the emperor, I can do anything.
-Majesty... I... I lied...

Xia Chunyu raises an eyebrow:

-Lied? But... How?

Xia Chunyu notices Ouyang's eyes shine. It didn't take long until a tear fell from them:

-Majesty... The letter we received... I have already answered it without your consent...
-Oh, this is the problem? Why would it matters, I trust you.
-Majesty... There were some terms there that would not harm us... But help someone you don't like...
-Ouyang... Please. This is not needed... I fully trust you... Tell me what happened...

Ouyang then looks at the ceiling. Tears fall from his eyes:

-Ma... Majesty... We will help... We will help Bai... Bai Chongye...
-But... We can't...

The expression of Xia Chunyu changes abruptly. After a moment, he cries:

-Ouyang... Please... We can't do it...

Ouyang takes the letter Feng Long originally sent for Xia Chunyu only, letting it over the bed. He leaves the bedroom, trying to hold his tears. Xia Chunyu feels devastated:

-Ouyang...

Ouyang gently closes the door, moving to his bedroom and letting Xia Chunyu alone, crying on his bed:

-We can't help Bai Chongye... He's so cruel...

A multitude of thoughts passes by Xia Chunyu's head. Over time, he starts to recover, looking at that letter, close to his feet. He finally moves forward, opening the letter. He notices Feng Long's signature and writing on the letter, making him somewhat better. He starts to read the content:

-"Dear Xia Chunyu... We've had such a heavenly meeting, I feel so well when we are together... Be it simply by walking side by side, holding hands, and even rising to the absolute unit... But this time, I need something that you may not agree with... I'll not write names here... I know it was terrible for you... But we have to help this time. This is a time we all have to work together to fight the greater evil. I know this is not easy for you... My heart hurts. But we have no other sensible option now. We must help Anhui. Ouyang can do it for us if you don't want to get involved. But, please, let him do it. This is a crucial decision that is going to have long-term effects on all empires, including yours. Xia Chunyu, please... I love you to a degree only we can understand... I can feel your heart pulsing right now... Make the right, sensible decision..."

Xia Chunyu cries, but this time, he was in love. He could not decline a request from Feng Long, given how deep their relationship was, despite only meeting him once in a while. He gets up, and slowly enters Ouyang's bedroom, surprising him:

-Ouyang... I'm feeling so cold...
-Majesty... Majesty!

Ouyang gets up, and then hugs Xia Chunyu, who was shivering by now. They lie down on Ouyang's bed, kissing deeply:

-Ouyang... I have no way out... I can't deny what Feng Long is asking me... It hurts...
-Majesty, you are doing the right thing... Nothing will change, I will still love you even after our bodies are simply ashes blown away by the wind...
-Ouyang...

Xia Chunyu tightens the hug, kissing Ouyang deeply again. They end up sharing Ouyang's smaller bed, but since Ouyang put in more blankets, the freezing temperatures outside were not a problem.
